TED Tuesday: Self-repairing architecture

Venice, Italy is sinking. To save it, Rachel Armstrong says we need to outgrow architecture made of inert materials and, well, make architecture that grows itself. She proposes a not-quite-alive material that does its own repairs and sequesters carbon, too.

Wow! It sounds like an interesting and viable option while being eco friendly. I'll be interested to see how this type of technology progresses

Yes, Christi. It IS indeed a very interesting trend to keep your eyes peeled for. I wish Rachel's ideas become a reality of our future. Sustainable architecture should be the way to go if we want to stop things from getting out of hand.
